And then continue the C ares route on foot from Cain to Poncebos , where we will pick you up at the end of the tour to return to the starting point in Cangas de Onís and surroundings.
We will leave in the morning from Cangas de Onís and with our 4x4 vehicles we will cross the Gorge of Los Beyos, one of the most important in northern Spain. On the way we will see the salmonera in which salmon fry are bred for release.
Then, we will continue along the Sella River course in the opposite direction, to observe the ancient passage that linked Asturias with the plateau. Arriving already in the province of León, we will enter the Sajambre Valley, where we can visit a mill that used to grind corn.
Then we will take the Senda del Arcediano and go to a viewpoint that is located about 1500 meters high, from which you can get the best views and panoramic photographs. Then we will descend to the village of Oseja, where we will make a short stop to rest.
Continuing with the route, we will see the birth of the River Sella, with the ports of Pontón and Panderruedas, one of the best places to appreciate the highest peaks of the Picos de Europa. Then we will descend towards the Posada de Valdeón and Cain , stopping on the way to get to know the Chorco de los lobos .
Around 14 hours we will arrive in Cain, where you will have free time to enjoy lunch. Then, you can go hiking along the Ruta del Cares from Cain to Poncebos on your own. The route is about 11 kms and of low difficulty, taking place in about 2 or 3 hours. We will provide you with a map of the area, although there are numerous signs along the trail.
At the end of the tour in Poncebos, we will pick you up around 19 or 20 hours (depending on the season) to transfer you back to Cangas de Onís. On the way back, we will pass through the Cabrales Arena, until we reach Cangas de Onís, where our tour ends.
