The adventure will continue with a visit to charming Saint-Malo and the majestic Mont Saint-Michel, and finally end in the Loire Valley, where you can visit the impressive castles of Langeais, Chenonceau and Chambord. It will be an unforgettable experience!
- DAY 1: Guided tour of the cities of Rouen, Honfleur and the Landing Beaches
The day starts early, at 7:15am, bound for the Normandy highway after passing through the western neighborhoods of Paris. After a couple of hours of walking, we will make a first stop in Rouen. The guide will accompany us on a walk through the historic center of the city, including the impressive Notre Dame Cathedral, the houses with wooden facades and its medieval pedestrian streets, all with a special charm that has inspired many impressionist painters, such as Claude Monet, who painted his series of paintings of the cathedral there.
In
the middle of the morning, we will make a journey of about an hour to Honfleur, where we can admire the impressive Normandy hanging bridge over the Seine estuary. In Honfleur, we will enjoy free time to discover this typical port city, with its picturesque streets and colorful houses. We can have lunch in one of its restaurants, enjoying a very pleasant maritime atmosphere on its terraces.
After lunch, we will continue along the Norman coast to discover the most famous beaches of the Landing, essential places of the Second World War that witnessed the arrival of the Allies on June 6, 1944. We will take a moment of recollection at the Colleville-sur-Mer American Cemetery, located near Omaha Beach. This cemetery, a symbolic site of the Battle of Normandy, impresses with its dimensions: 70 hectares marked by thousands of white marble tombs. To end the visit, we will stop at the Norman beach of Arromanches (25 minutes from Colleville-sur-Mer), which still conserves the vestiges of the pontoons of the artificial port built in England and towed there to help the disembarkation, despite the onslaught of the sea.
After a day full of emotions, the day will end at the Novotel de Caen (or similar), where we can enjoy a delicious dinner and rest.
- DAY 2: Guided tour of the cities of Saint-Malo and Mont Saint-Michel
We'll start with a buffet breakfast to recharge our batteries and prepare for a day full of emotions. We will head to Saint-Malo, a city that boasts an impressive wall, a castle, the Cathedral of Saint Vincent and the National Fort. Accompanied by our guide, we will immerse ourselves in the history of this wonderful city and, afterwards, you will have free time to savor the local cuisine.
But the best is yet to come. We'll head to one of the most iconic places in France! Get your camera ready to capture Mont Saint-Michel, a rocky promontory surrounded by a splendid bay. We will walk along the Grande Rue and discover the typical medieval houses, museums and shops. After a short walk, we will arrive at the 8th-century Benedictine abbey, located at the top of the mountain. There, you'll be dazzled by the Gothic beauty of the abbey and its cloister, as well as enjoying panoramic sea views from the garden.
Afterwards, you'll have free time to walk through the lively alleys, walk along the walls and contemplate the exceptional beauty of the bay. Don't forget to try the delicious crêpes! We will leave Mont Saint-Michel at 4:30 p.m. in the direction of Angers, where we will stay at the Angers Centre hotel (or similar). Here you'll find plenty of restaurants to enjoy a delicious dinner before bed. Tomorrow we will continue with more adventures!
