- DAY 1: Explore Mont Saint-Michel and its Abbey with an expert guide
Hop on our comfortable, air-conditioned bus at 7:15 a.m. at our agency in central Paris and embark on an exciting route along the Normandy highway, crossing beautiful rural landscapes. You'll arrive at Mont Saint-Michel around 11:30 a.m., and you'll have free time to have lunch and sample local gastronomic delights.
Get ready to be amazed by this “Wonder of the West” and its impressive Gothic architecture! Explore the walls and the Gran Rue, full of shops, museums and medieval houses. Reach the top of the hill to visit the iconic 8th-century Benedictine Abbey dedicated to the archangel Saint Michael, and admire the stunning sea views from the refectory and garden. Finally, enjoy the scenery and buy souvenirs or savor delicious crêpes in the picturesque local streets before leaving for Angers.
In Angers, you'll spend the night at the Mercure Lac de Maine (or similar) hotel.
- DAY 2: Explore the Loire Castles of Langeais, Chenonceau and Chambord
After a good night's sleep and a delicious breakfast at the Angers hotel, our bus will take you to the castles of the Loire. You'll make a brief stop near Angers Castle to admire its imposing medieval architecture before arriving at Langeais Castle.
Get ready to go back in time at this complex comprised of two exceptional castles! Discover the oldest tower in France and the Castle of Louis XI, built in 1465, and relive the history of France through a recreation made with incredibly realistic wax characters.
After the guided tour, you'll have free time for lunch in Chenonceau before discovering the “Ladies' Castle” and its impressive architecture on the banks of the Cher River. Admire the rooms furnished and decorated with flowers, which reflect the refined French lifestyle.
Finally, arrive at the majestic Chambord Castle and enjoy priority access to the interior of the castle thanks to our guide. Listen to comments on the history of the castle, built during the reign of Francis I with the participation of Leonardo da Vinci in the 16th century, and climb the famous “double revolution staircase” to reach the large panoramic terrace.
From there, enjoy a stunning view of the park before returning to our agency in Paris around 8:00 p.m.!
