Do not miss this Seville Cathedral and Alcazar guided tour that will allow you to delve deeper into the history and present of two emblematic monuments of Seville.

Accompanied by an expert local guide, you will visit first the Roman Catholic Cathedral of Seville. It is the largest Gothic Cathedral and the third-largest church in the world and was registered in 1987 by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site.

Its construction began in 1433 on the old Almohad mosque, being completed in 1507, 65 years later. From this ancient mosque, the Giralda and the Patio de los Naranjos (Orange Courtyard) are preserved.

Nowadays the Patio de los Naranjos is one of the most important annexes of the Cathedral de Sevilla, being fully integrated into it. The Giralda has the role of bell tower of the Cathedral of Seville. Its height is 343 feet (105 m) and It is making it visible from part of the city, so you can admire spectacular views of Seville from there.

The interior of the Cathedral has the longest nave of any cathedral in Spain. The central nave rises to a height of 42 meters and is lavishly decorated with a large quantity of gilding. It is also the burial site of Christopher Columbus.

Still excited by the unique tour that you just made, you will enjoy the second part of your visit in the Royal Alcazar of Seville , the oldest Royal Palace still in use in Europe and one of Seville's most emblematic symbols.

Originally a Moorish fort, the palace is renowned as one of the most beautiful in Spain, being regarded as one of the most outstanding examples of mudéjar architecture found on the Iberian. It was registered in 1987 by Unesco as a World Heritage Site.

To begin the Alcázar tour, you will access to the main entrance the Puerta del León (Lion's Gate). It will take you to discover the different styles (Islamic-Moorish, Gothic, Renaissance and Baroque) of the different rooms of the Alcázar: the Hall of Justice, the Court of Monteria, whose name comes from the hunters who accompanied the king on his hunting parties, Room of the Admiral and House of Trade (Casa de Contratación).

In El Patio de las Doncellas (The Courtyard of the Maidens), you will discover the legend that says the Moors demanded 100 virgins every year as tribute from Christian kingdoms in Iberia.

Surrounded by ancient walls, are the gardens, which represent a fundamental part of the Alcazar. The walk through the gardens is one of the most pleasant of Seville. They are arranged in terraces of verdant vegetation, with a wide variety of fragrant flowers, plenty of orange trees, palms fountains and pavilions. It is a fresh and quiet place for rest and relaxation in the city.

The Alcazar has inspired numerous painters such as Joaquin Sorolla, Emilio Sanchez Perrier, José Villegas Cordero and Manuel García Rodríguez.

When Seville Cathedral and Alcazar guided tour ends, optionally you will explore the Santa Cruz Quarter on a walking tour by official guide. Are you ready?

    "No volvería a repetir."

    "The tour was good..."
    Reviews by anonymous, 2017-05-17 00:13:33
... and the guides were excellent, but it was much longer than the advertised 3 hours. The Santa Cruz walking tour was 2 hours, starting at 11am with just 5 people, before we joined the Cathedral and Alcazar tours at 1pm. The tour ended at 3:30pm, and we then had free time to see the gardens of the Alcazar, I was tired and hungry by then. I'd recommend breaking up these visits across separate days if possible.
