Do you know the Gomera and its laurisilva forests? This spectacular Canary Island will hypnotize you with its miles of lush vegetation and its dreamy views. Designated Biosphere Reserve since 2012, it boasts lush natural beauty, majestic volcanic mountains and walking paths among fairytale forests. Discover it with La Gomera day trip from Puerto de la Cruz!
We will pick you up at Puerto de la Cruz in Tenerife to take you to Puerto de Los Cristianos, the starting point for our tour. From here we will take the ferry that will take us to La Gomera Island.
Upon arrival we will go completely into the Cedar Forest, part of the Garajonay National Park, declared a World Heritage Site since 1986. We will take a stop at La Laguna Grande, the most mysterious area of the park, from where you can stroll through the magical surroundings.
We will also discover the most outstanding natural monument of the island, the Roque de Agando, an exceptional phonolithic python of 1,250 meters high.
Continuing La Gomera day trip from Puerto de la Cruz, we will explore other attractions of the island such as the viewpoint of Vallehermoso and the coastal town of Hermigua, a symbol of rural tourism.
We will have a magnificent lunch in Agulo, to later attend an exhibition of the native language of the area called silbo gomero, designated ethnographic heritage of the Canary Islands.
We will take a last but very important stop in the capital of the island, San Sebastián. In its history, Christopher Columbus passed through this area before his discovery trip to the “new world” stands out. We will pass by the house where Columbus stayed, which was later converted into a museum. We will also visit the historic and cultural center of the city, where we will admire the Church of the Assumption, the Hermitage of San Sebastian and the Torre del Conde, a historical artistic monument since 1990.
Finally we will take the ferry back to Tenerife and we will be arriving at the hotel around 6:00 p.m.
The Canary Islands archipelago and its wonderful islands have many amazing places to discover. We recommend taking note of our Tenerife boat trips to other islands, so that you can value more options for your trip.
