Explore historic and emblematic places of Spain on a full day trip from Madrid: the Monastery of El Escorial, the Valley of the Fallen and Toledo, the City of the Three Cultures. Enjoy a tour aboard climatized motor coach and accompanied by an official guide.

In the moorning, you will appreciate the symbol of Spanish power in the sixteenth century: the Monastery of San Lorenzo De El Escorial.

The Monastery was built under the reign of the powerful King Philip II to be a Residence for the Kings, Monastery and Pantheon of the Royal Family, becoming as a symbol of the great power of the Spanish Empire on the time. The monument was declared of Artistic and Historic interest and "Mankind Heritage".

The tour includes the Monastery, the Cloister of the Four Evangelists, the Royal Palace of Philip II, Pantheons of the Royal Family, the Chapterhouses and the Basilica.

Your next stop will be the Valley of the Fallen, 9 km from El Escorial, a monument built as a memorial of those who died during the Spanish Civil war.

Located in the beautiful Valley of Cuelgamuros, in the Mountains of Guadarrama, this impressive work has a colossal cross over 150 mts.high,and the Basilica and Crypt excavated in the hard rock under the mountain.

After lunch (optional), you will begin the second part of your itinerary on a guided tour of Toledo, the “City of the Three Cultures”.

Located 70 km away from Madrid is Toledo, a beautiful city-museum declared World Heritage Site by UNESCO. It is one of the oldest towns in Europe and has a great artistic beauty and buildings from almost all periods in history (Arabian, Gothic, Mudejar, Renaissance and Baroque style).

Toledo is called the “City of the Three Cultures”, since Christians, Muslims and Jews lived together.

Upon arrival you will start with a panoramic walking tour of Toledo, entering to the old quarters to visit the Plaza del Ayuntamiento and admire the facade of the impressive Primate Cathedral, the old Palace of Justice and the City Hall.

If you choose the tour option with Cathedral, you will explore the inside of the monuemnt with thw guide. If you did not buy the supplement for the Cathedral, you will have free time in Toledo.

Later on, you will continue the guided walking tour by the Jewish Quarter with its narrow streets to visit the Church of St. Tomé, with the famous painting of El Greco "The Burial of Count Orgaz" and the old Synagogue of Santa Maria la Blanca, which remain as a symbol of the coexistence of the "Three Cultures".

You will also visit a typical factory of Damascene, well known handicraft art of Toledo.

    Nos sorprendió el Valle de los Caídos, Toledo lo conocíamos pero es tan bello que vale la pena disfrutarlo nuevamente!!. Excelente ambas guías Cristina y Pilar, saben mucho, están atentas a todo y son muy agradables en el trato. Los chóferes realizaron su trabajo correctamente y el almuerzo en el Museo del Jamón fue muy bueno, abundante y rico. Gracias x vuestros servicios!!.

    "Las visitas nos gustaron mucho."
    Lo único negativo fue que contratamos el almuerzo y, aunque pagamos el mismo precio del menú del restaurante (Museo del Jamón, en Gran Vía), nos trataron como "cliente de segunda": no nos ofrecieron el entremés de cortesía, solo nos dejaron elegir entre 2 platos (en la carta del menú había 5 en cada categoría 1er y segundo plato y diferentes a los que nos ofrecieron) y de postre ni siquiera eso, solo helado (tipo corneto). ¡Indignante! Lo demás muy bien.

El Escorial me resulto +- ya que venia desde Londres, París y Roma con castillos y palacios mucho mas espectaculares, tampoco me gusto la visita a las tumbas en el Escorial.
