Description

Discover Porto’s winemaking traditions, Lisbon’s historic neighbourhoods and Andalusia’s heritage before crossing the Strait of Gibraltar on this 14-day tour of Portugal, Andalusia and Morocco from Madrid. Travel through Seville, Córdoba and Ronda to the Costa del Sol, then continue to Morocco to explore Rabat, Fez and the blue streets of Chefchaouen. Back in Spain, visit Granada and Toledo before returning to Madrid.

The tour includes thirteen nights of accommodation, daily breakfast, two lunches and seven dinners, as well as return ferry crossings to Morocco and visits with local guides in the main cities featured in the programme.

Day 1 (Tuesday) MADRID – SALAMANCA – PORTO

Our journey begins at the Madrid terminal at 7:30 am, with departure for Salamanca. You will have free time to explore its historic centre and admire the Plaza Mayor, one of the most distinctive landmarks of this historic university city.

We will continue into Portugal and arrive in Porto, on the banks of the Douro River. Hotel arrival and overnight accommodation.

Day 2 (Wednesday) PORTO

After breakfast, we will take a panoramic tour of Porto with a local guide. Discover some of the highlights of this World Heritage city, including the Cathedral, the Stock Exchange Palace and the Church of Santa Clara.

We will finish at a traditional winery, with a Porto wine tasting included. The rest of the day will be free to explore the city independently. Overnight accommodation.

Day 3 (Thursday) PORTO – AVEIRO – COIMBRA – FÁTIMA – LISBON

After breakfast, we will depart for Aveiro, whose canals and colourful boats have earned it the nickname of the Portuguese Venice. We will then continue to Coimbra, home to one of Europe’s oldest universities and a city closely associated with fado. Free time.

Our route continues to Fátima, where you will have free time to visit the Basilica and Sanctuary. Afterwards, we will travel to Lisbon, Portugal’s capital, for our overnight stay.

Optional In the evening, you may attend an optional fado show, which is not included in the tour price.

Day 4 (Friday) LISBON

After breakfast, we will discover Lisbon with a local guide. Our panoramic tour will take us past the park viewpoint, Eduardo VII Square, Rossio Square and Avenida da Liberdade, as well as the Madragoa neighbourhood, associated with the origins of fado.

In the Belém district, we will see Belém Tower, the Monument to the Discoveries and the Jerónimos Monastery, landmarks of Portugal’s maritime history.

The afternoon will be free to enjoy the city at your own pace or Optional join an optional excursion to Sintra, Cascais and Estoril, which is not included in the price. Overnight accommodation.

Day 5 (Saturday) LISBON – MÉRIDA – SEVILLE

After breakfast, we will return to Spain and travel to Mérida. You will have free time to discover its archaeological ensemble, a World Heritage Site whose highlights include the Roman Theatre and Amphitheatre.

Following free time for lunch at your own expense, we will continue along the Autovía de la Plata towards Seville. Included dinner and overnight accommodation.

Day 6 (Sunday) SEVILLE

After breakfast, a tour with a local guide will introduce us to Seville’s main attractions. We will explore María Luisa Park, Plaza de España and the Santa Cruz neighbourhood, with its small squares and narrow streets. We will also admire the exteriors of the Cathedral and the Giralda.

Optional Optional activities include a cruise on the Guadalquivir River, with views of the Torre del Oro and the Expo 92 site, or a visit to the Maestranza Bullring. Lunch will be at your own expense.

Optional In the evening, you may attend an optional flamenco show. Optional activities are not included in the tour price. Overnight accommodation.

Day 7 (Monday) SEVILLE – CÓRDOBA

After breakfast, we will depart for Córdoba. Our walking tour with a local guide will begin at the Almodóvar Gate and continue through the Jewish Quarter, where we will discover the atmosphere of its narrow streets.

The tour includes a visit to the interior of the Mosque-Cathedral of Córdoba, with admission included. Afterwards, you will have free time to continue exploring the city. Included dinner and overnight accommodation.

Day 8 (Tuesday) CÓRDOBA – RONDA – COSTA DEL SOL

After breakfast, we will follow the White Villages Route to Ronda. You will have free time to stroll through this Andalusian town before we continue our journey.

In the afternoon, we will arrive on the Costa del Sol, where we will stay overnight before beginning the Moroccan section of the tour. Included dinner.

Day 9 (Wednesday) COSTA DEL SOL – TANGIER – ASILAH – RABAT

After breakfast, we will travel to the port to board the ferry to Tangier. We will cross the Strait of Gibraltar and, on arrival in Morocco, continue by road towards Rabat.

Along the way, we will stop in Asilah, a town on the Atlantic coast, where you will have time for lunch at your own expense. Afternoon arrival in Rabat. Included dinner and overnight accommodation.

Day 10 (Thursday) RABAT – FEZ

After breakfast, we will take a tour of Rabat with a local guide. We will see the Hassan Tower, beside the column-lined esplanade of its unfinished mosque, and the Mausoleum of Mohammed V, built in memory of the sultan who secured the country’s independence.

We will continue to Fez, one of Morocco’s main cultural and religious centres. A panoramic tour will introduce us to the Dar Al-Makhzen Royal Palace and its seven gates before we enter the medina of Fez el Bali, a World Heritage Site, with a local guide.

From Bab Boujloud to Es-Seffarine Square, we will discover streets, buildings and artisan quarters. We will visit a medersa and observe the traditional crafts of tanners, tailors and copper workers.

Enjoy an included lunch at a traditional restaurant. Overnight accommodation in Fez.

Day 11 (Friday) FEZ – CHEFCHAOUEN – TANGIER

After breakfast, we will travel to Chefchaouen, also known as Chaouen. We will stroll through its blue-painted streets and discover its picturesque corners on our way to Outta El Hammam Square.

You will have free time to enjoy the town before we continue to Tangier. Included dinner and overnight accommodation.

Day 12 (Saturday) TANGIER – COSTA DEL SOL

Breakfast and a free morning in Tangier. At the scheduled time, we will depart for the port to board the ferry back to Spain.

After crossing the Strait, we will continue to the Costa del Sol. Included dinner and overnight accommodation, except for the departure on 14 December 2027, as explained in the note at the end of the itinerary.

Day 13 (Sunday) COSTA DEL SOL – GRANADA

After breakfast, we will head to Granada. With a local guide, we will visit the monumental Alhambra complex and the Generalife gardens, once the residence of the Nasrid kings.

Admission is included, subject to the availability and replacement conditions stated at the end of the itinerary. Included dinner and overnight accommodation.

Optional In the evening, you may join an optional visit to the Sacromonte caves with a zambra flamenco show, which is not included in the tour price.

Day 14 (Monday) GRANADA – TOLEDO – MADRID

After breakfast, we will depart for Toledo, known as the City of Three Cultures. Enjoy an included lunch and a tour with a local guide, featuring panoramic views from the Mirador del Valle and a walk through the historic centre.

We will then continue to Madrid. Arrival and end of our tour of Portugal, Andalusia and Morocco.

Important: The itinerary in Morocco may be modified without substantially changing the services provided.

  • In order to issue the travel insurance (included in the tour), all reservations must indicate for each passenger the following data: Name/ Surname/ Passport Number or ID Card/ Date of issue/ Date of Expiration/ Nationality/ Date of Birth. Reservations cannot be formalized without providing all the required information.
  • It is essential to have the necessary documentation to enter Morocco: passport and visa (for nationalities that require it). To check if you need a visa: you can click here. In Morocco, you must go through customs with your luggage.
  • Note on the Alhambra: if the Alhambra and Generalife authorities are unable to provide admission tickets for technical or organisational reasons, the visit will be replaced by another tourist activity in Granada. This may include, for example, a visit to the Palace of Charles V, the Archaeological Museum, the Church of Santa María, the Royal Chapel, the Alcaicería, Cathedral Square or a zambra flamenco performance.
  • It is essential to bring a Passport to access the Alhambra.

  • Costa del Sol — 2 nights, at separate stages of the tour: Sol Príncipe, Sol Torremolinos – Don Pablo or Sol Torremolinos – Don Pedro, in Torremolinos.
  • Rabat — 1 night: Rihab or Helnan Chellah.
  • Fez — 1 night: Royal Mirage or Menzeh Zalagh.
  • Tangier — 1 night: Hilton Garden Inn or Kenzi Solazur.
  • Granada — 1 night: Hotel Saray or Hotel Los Ángeles.

In the exceptional event of not having availability in the mentioned hotels, these will be replaced by another of a similar category. We will confirm the final hotels in advance of the tour departure.

In most hotels, triple rooms consist of 2 beds, or a double bed plus a sofa bed or a folding bed.

  • The tour includes in the price a visit with an official guide to the most important cities. However, our guide will offer you some excursions or complementary visits that may be of interest to you. These are not included in the price of the tour, they are paid at the destination and a minimum number of people is needed to guarantee the tour departure.
