Description

A tour to Casa Milà, popularly known as La Pedrera (the stone quarry), a building that is a reference point in world architecture, allows you to understand and gain a deep knowledge of the work of Antoni Gaudí and, in particular, his last civil work, La Pedrera.

Casa Milà is the only Gaudí interpretation centre in Barcelona devoted to providing an understanding of the work of this architectural genius.

A visit to La Pedrera by day covers to different museum areas – the Espai Gaudí and the Pedrera Apartment – which, together with the Provença and Passeig de Gràcia Courtyard, the Exhibition Room and the Roof-Terrace, make up the tour of the building.

The Espai Gaudí, in the attic, offers a broad view of the Gaudí´s work, showing the most basic traits of his clearly visual and empirical way of understanding architecture through models, audiovisuals and objects.

The Pedrera Apartment recreates the home and life of a Barcelona bourgeois family of the first third of the twentieth century. It is also now possible to visit the former residence of the Milà family, which houses the Temporary Exhibition Room.

The Roof-Terrace, an unique space charged with artistic and symbolic force, was designed to fulfil a functional role and bears no semblance to the architecture of its time. From there you will admire spectacular views of Barcelona.

The audio guide, included in La Pedrera entrance ticket , provides information to the visitor about the visitable areas and the main features of the building and the architect Antoni Gaudí.

After roughly 1 hour, your audio tour ends, leaving you free to leave or continue exploring La Pedrera.

  • This ticket avoids the queue to purchase your ticket. You can access La Pedrera by the online ticket office, which will save time and wait. (Note that there may be a short wait if more people with your same condition to access the monument.)
  • You will receive the audio guide when you show your ticket at the entrance of La Pedrera.
  • Children aged 0-6 are free of charge.
  • Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult.
  • If you purchase tickets for children you will need to prove this condition on the day of the visit.
  • For security reason, the Roof-Terrace will remain closed if raining.
  • The public parts on the tour of the building are adapted for access without obstacles to people with reduced mobility; except the Roof-Terrace.

    Single payment: The payment of the total amount will be made at the time of booking. Cash payments are not accepted on the day of the visit.

    Payment the day of the tour: A first payment of a percentage of the total will be required at the time of booking and the second payment of the remaining amount you will pay at the destination on the day of the activity, in cash or card, as indicated. Please note that only payments in local currency will be accepted (for example in Spain only EUROS will be accepted).

    Payment in 2 installments: It will be necessary to pay a first payment of a percentage of the total amount when making the reservation. The second payment of the remaining amount must be made before the day of the activity, on the deadline indicated. In case of reaching this date and the pending amount has not been paid, the reservation will be cancelled and the amount paid initially will be refunded.
